Rum Pointe golf course is an 18 hole public golf course located in Berlin, Marland within minutes of Ocean City, Maryland.
Rum Pointe first opened for play in the spring of 1997. The course was designed by the father/son team of Pete & P.B.Dye.
Located on Highway 611 on the Sinepuxent Bay overlooking Assateague National Seashore Park, Mother Nature and the Dye's have combined talents to bring world-class golf to the Ocean City area. This Scottish-style links is the only area course to feature bent-grass on the fairways and greens. No less than 17 of the 18 holes have a bay view with several holes having direct bay frontage, where you can start your ball over the water to shorten the hole.
The Dyes have created situations of risk and reward that will challenge even the most experienced golfer. From the back tees this championship quality course is capable of hosting a PGA Tour stop but forgiving enough from the middle tees to satisfy golfers of all skill levels. >
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,523 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 6,523 yards. The longest hole on the course is #8, a par-5 that plays to 517 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is #2, a par-3 that plays to 153 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for #16, a 425 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is #4, a 367 yard par-4.

I play Rum Pointe often when visiting Ocean City 2 or 3 times per year. Its a player friendly course, challenging to score well. Beautiful views and layout, almost always a stiff breeze because of its proximity to the water.

When will the wind stop! Great views of the bay and a wonderful layout. Lots of water but the course will reward you for making shots.

Great layout by Pete and PB Dye, with some very unique holes. Always in great shape. Friendly staff. Good casual food, reasonably priced. Great views of Bay and Assateague. Very close to the Atlantic, so the wind is almost always a factor, adding to the challenge.

I recently went to Ocean City for a Golf package. We played three courses: River Run, Rum Pointe, and War Admiral. All three courses were great, but Rum Pointe was the best. Tees, Fairways, and greens were perfect. The course is located on the bay and two of the holes are on the water. I don't mean you can see the water, I mean Fairway, 4-5 feet of rough, then water. One of the most beautiful courses I've played.

A bit unfair o rank conditioning as the tees, greens and fairways were aerated last week.
